Community Center of the southern berkshires

John Fülöp Associates began research in South County in order to formulate a program and a plan for a proposed Community Center for South Berkshire county.

A community planning project was proposed for the Lower east Side of New York City. The site was a several block area located at the southern end of Manhattan, leveled and abandoned off South Street at Rutgers Slip. It is contiguous to the lower East Side community which, at that point in time, had a wealth of educational, religious and social organizations that could be tapped as resources.


Housatonic mills project

Working with a Realtor in West Stockbridge, we identified, three mostly empty mill buildings and six open acres of land on the East side of the Housatonic River to be developed as artist lofts and affordable housing units thereby creating a new town center for this mostly abandoned section of town.
